A very special Vow Renewal

I am so late getting this blog out! Weddings and vow renewals and engagement sessions and maternity sessions just about every weekend until October have me super busy!

I wanted to take my time to write this because this post deserves the attention. Gaye and Andrew are two incredible people with a pretty neat history together. I also feel like Gaye and I could be besties. When we walked up to her beautiful home in Lawrenceville (which Andrew built himself– with his own two hands) Gaye’s car was in their garage. I immediately spotted the infamous 12Stone sticker and a “Save the Bees” bumper sticker. If you know me well, you know I cherish my church (12Stone in Snellville!) and if you know me even just a little, you might know I understand the importance of bees in our ecosystem and want to do everything I can to help save them. In fact, I am seriously considering having a hive… Just waiting on the day when I feel like I have time!

The two of them share a dog, Quin, who was adopted. He has the most precious spirit, and though he wasn’t excited I wanted close ups, he would readily pose for some treats.

We took a few photos of Gaye and Andrew around their beautiful home before they started their vow renewal ceremony. It was blisteringly muggy outside, and super awful in the sun. Thank goodness their chemistry is on fire, because we only shot for about 10 minutes before deciding enough was enough. When I look at these two pictures above, I feel happy!! How could you not?! I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to capture this day in photos for them to relive over and over again.

So this is super cool: Gaye found my information through House of Design in Buford. My dear photographer friends, through whom I fell in love with weddings, work with them regularly and they referred Gaye to me. What an honor to be referred by two photographers I have such a deep respect for. Glen and Becky with Pixel This are honestly the number one reason I am so successful.

Anyway– House of Design did not disappoint. Their arrangements were absoultely beautiful. I couldn’t get enough of them!

When it was time for the ceremony, we joined Quin up on Gaye and Andrew’s back deck (which the TWO OF THEM built all by themselves!! Both of them!). The sweet ceremony was every so short, and absolutely intimate. It was pretty amazing to me to watch how two people can come together with God at the center of their every decision, build a family. Their children and grandchildren are precious, and the love each of them have for the other just shines. I pray my family will come together like this some day.

I love how Quin was in the *perfect* spot at the end of their ceremony– just in time for their vows and sweet hug.

We ended the day with some yummy treats and family portraits.

Lastly, we hung around as long as we could until we got at least one shot of a bee for Gaye’s gallery since she shares my love for them. He was a quick moving fella, but we got a few good ones. 🙂

Thank you so much for allowing me and my associate shooter to be apart of this special celebration. We were honored to have joined in celebrating you and your family, and we hope to see you all again some day.

Love,

Rocheal
