Atlanta Engagement Photographer

Couple in Atlanta during their engagement session

It’s official. I’m a real Atlanta engagement photographer. I’ve driven around Atlanta before, and I’ve always envied the people who could walk around and just *find* picturesque scenes… With good light and good scenery and good vibes… And focus on finding all that whilst maintaining conversation and fun with my couple. And I Did It!!! Well, it helped that Liz and Corey are two of the coolest people I know. They’re so incredibly easy to talk to and get along with. Does that count as cheating?? Nonetheless, their session was SO much fun. We literally met at a coffee house in the middle of the city and just walked around; almost without a plan, and wound up on Jackson Street Bridge. (This was after back and forth texting about how both Liz and I NEED and thrive off a good plan.)

Facepalm? I’ll own it because Liz and Corey ROCKED their session, and we had a BLAST meandering around the city.

I’m so torn now because I’ve always really loved fields of long grass and super romantic golden sunsets… Now I’m starting to like the city.

I first met Liz and Corey at Corey’s mom’s wedding. Corey was so super helpful with getting my gear from the ground floor up to the second floor… The place didn’t have an elevator and my gear is HEAVY. It’s a lot. (Ridiculous… Embarrassing, even.)

It’s not that I’m not capable; it’s that Corey is that kind of young man. I adored him from the moment I met him, and seeing him with Liz is the sweetest thing in the world.

Liz first met Corey in middle school. I really enjoyed hearing their stories about sneaking out together in the middle of the night, and only sometimes getting caught. They dated off and on throughout high school, but even when they weren’t officially ‘dating’, Liz tells me that Corey was always her “person”. She could always count on him. They loved each other!

London…

Although they’d talked about getting married, the two of them were on a trip in London. Liz was there for school, and although Corey joined her for some of the trip, he made it clear the proposal was NOT happening there.

Liz hadn’t traveled out of the country with Corey before, and so she was a little concerned about  (and eventually annoyed by) his anxiety along the way. He wasn’t making eye contact with her, his iPad was on double lock down, and he was being extra cautious about everything. He hardly even spoke to her. And if you know Corey, you’d know that to be WAY out of character. (He’s a super personable person!!)

She tried to chalk it up to anxiousness due to traveling, but she couldn’t help but get annoyed when he refused to let her keep his valuables in her pouch when they were in a pick pocket area..

The Proposal

After days of Corey being super anxious, distant, and clearly unsettled, the two of them were still out touring and boarding a really cool bus. They had food, drinks, and dessert waiting for them on board and Liz was doing everything she could to keep her cool with Corey.

Little did she know, he had been carrying her mother’s (who passed away when she was a teenager) diamond ring in between his iPad case and his POCKET since he boarded his plane to London. Corey had been waiting for the perfect moment since they arrived.

Corey finally decided this was the moment, and he was *so* nervous by this point that he was pretty much trembling. Liz was doing everything she could to keep her cool and pretty much deciding she would never travel with him again while he, on the other hand, was about to pop the question!

When Corey asked Liz if she wanted her cupcake, I’m not sure what thoughts went through her head but I can just imagine what would be going through my head if my boyfriend had spent DAYS acting so strangely and then tried to eat my cupcake.

She gave it to him. And while she was looking out the window (as most of us do when we’re heavily annoyed) he placed the ring on top and slid it back to her.

She didn’t notice at first, and then when she did she was confused. I think I would have been to!!

“Is this for real?? You said you weren’t asking me to marry you in London. Are you asking me to marry….? Is this real???”

And finally, he asked. The whole bus celebrated them, and it. was. epic.

Without further ado, Liz and Corey…
