Latisha and Anthony (or Tisha and Cheeze, as they’re known to their fans) are finally married, y’all!! A postponed wedding (thanks, Covid), has really introduced some tricky situations for these two, and they’ve taken it all with unbelievably exceptional attitudes!

Anthony first reached out to me a little more than a month before his wedding, and we hit it off. Although I was booked for the year, and although his wedding was on EASTER- for some reason I wanted to chat with him. After feeling his genuine personality over the phone and hearing that his original photographer went MIA (my prayers are extended to the original photographer… I really hope s/he’s okay.) I couldn’t say no.

We met up in their neighborhood on a week day (while my kids played at the playground next to us) for their engagement session, got to know each other, and planned everything for their wedding at Stone Ridge Event Center in Stone Mountain. (Which is about 15 minutes from my house- SCORE!)

So, truth be told, I was insanely nervous about their ceremony. I know you probably don’t know much about how digital cameras work, but every camera has a sensor (the thing that records the ‘data’ – or image- ) and every sensor has limitations. Highlights and shadows have to be balanced in a way that allows the sensor to expose (if you will) the main subject.

Well… Check out their ceremony space (top picture below)

The guests were to be sat in the full sun (not a cloud in the high afternoon sky) and the bride, groom, and officiant were to stand under the shaded gazebo… While the wedding party was split in both the high sun AND the dark shadows of the gazebo.

Yikes.

But we did it, you guys. We did it! I’m so thankful Anthony’s dad let us move them around a little under the gazebo, and I’m so grateful for my gear, and knowledge of off camera flash. Balancing these settings felt like literal magic. I’m so thankful we were able to capture this for these two.

During their first dance, their wedding party jumped up (no warning!!!) and started throwing FIST FULLS of CASH at Anthony and Latisha. WADS.

There were 100s, 50s, 20s, 10s, 5s, and like six trillion 1s flying EVERYWHERE through the air.

It was EPIC.

During their speeches, it was so evident how loved Anthony and Latisha really are. And I just have to take a moment to shout out Anthony’s mom, stepmom, and dad. While Latisha was getting ready, Anthony’s mom and stepmom were hanging out in her bridal suite — just talking. Catching up. Enjoying each other.
I really wish every child had the luxury of having loving, mature, God-fearing parents who could come together for the greater good and model love. I hope they read this so they know what a beautiful inspiration they are to me; I’m going to pray for this luxury for my own family.
