Engagement Photographer in Loganville
Vines Botanical Gardens in Loganville, Georgia
Being an engagement photographer in Loganville at Vines Botanical Gardens isn’t too shabby!
Choosing photography as a living definitely has its ups and downs. I feel like I see the world differently than I ever have… That’s an up… It’s like the world has become a canvas. And it’s not every day I get to collaborate with a man who wants to surprise his girlfriend with an engagement ring!! (too many keywords?? Sorry… Google’s attention is important, y’all!)
Keyra and Matt have been dating for some years, and Keyra is VERY keen. She’s observant, witty, and quick to notice when something is up. I know her well; she’s my cousin! She earned herself a free photoshoot by referring Erin and Jordan to me (whose wedding at Ashton Gardens was AMAZING, by the way).
It wasn’t long before Matt and I were scheming. Once he learned about the photoshoot, he instantly knew he wanted to surprise her with a ring. The second I found out he asked my Uncle Dean and Aunt Stacie for their blessing, I knew Keyra would find out… My uncle, y’all… He CANNOT keep secrets.
As time went on, and Keyra still seemed to have NO clue, we continued to scheme.
Eventually Matt told the kids. Obviously Keyra would find out now, right?
NOPE. 🙂
Every single one of them kept it a secret, and they kept it well. (They were SO EXCITED during the shoot!)
Meanwhile, we all started hearing thunder, pretty much immediately after arriving at Vines Botanical Gardens. Originally we were supposed to have two hours, but it sprinkled after less than an hour… I know Matt was thinking the same thing I was… Except, I was wondering if I should rush it along, or if we should postpone!

As we were walking in the rain, I tried to lock eyes with him without tipping Keyra off, and I used Tristen a bit to see if Matt was still on board! It was clear to me he wanted to propose to her, and he wanted to do it TODAY.
Her face here. I’m cracking up!
So the kids were PUMPED about the surprise proposal.
Eventually, by this point it was almost pouring. We headed to the cars, but the rain stopped just in time for us to grab a few more pictures! Matt said when Molly was a baby, they had a photoshoot here. He wanted to recreate one of the images. (Can you see the rain?)
Later, everyone played in the rain some more, and then Molly suggested we play Red Light, Green Light. Even Tristen was on board!
Keyra and Matt decided, despite the rain, they definitely wanted a few pictures together. So we rolled with it!
The stick isn’t too noticeable, is it? (wink)
Because… Well, you get it. We decided to sneak around the corner for a couple minutes of privacy.
It’s pretty cool… The domino effects of life, you know? Would Matt have proposed to Keyra yet, had not Erin and Jordan got married? I love watching God’s plan in action.
Also… I have to give credit to Matt on this engagement ring! Well done.
Love y’all

The pictures are beautiful. You’re a very special lady to help Matt pull this off. To often our sons forget to share like daughters do. Thanks so much for making me feel like I was a part of this wonderful day! I kept the secret, too. Thank you so much, Sheryl (Matt’s Mom)
Hi Sheryl! Thank you so much! I’m so glad you felt like you were apart of this day as you looked through the pictures!! I think you were a bit apart of it since you knew too!! How cool.
