Oh my gosh!! This session, y’all!!!!!
I’m not sure if you remember, but earlier this year we had a session planned, but a wind storm blew in and it was FREEZING outside. Anna and Jacob needed photos for their Save The Dates, and so they were on a bit of a time crunch. So we pressed through the session in the blistering wind… We really couldn’t focus, and I was trying to hide the fact that my fingers were 100% numb. We were pretty much all begging to take cover within the first 3 seconds of getting out of our cars, so we shot a few photos and then rescheduled their session.
Wednesday, the day of their session, was a gorgeous day. In the morning I had a cake smash, in the afternoon I had a meeting with another photographer, and in between those moments I spent time at home soaking up the lovely weather with my kids and our new puppy.

The day was forecasted to be between a 0% and 10% chance for rain.
Fine, right? (yes! It was gorgeous!)
Until, suddenly, just before their session, a downpour flooded our skies!! It literally POURED.
Anna and Jacob are attending college in Tennessee, and so it’s not like they live right around the corner. I felt TERRIBLE for them!! It’s like every time- just before their engagement session- something goes crazy with the weather.
They were worried about it, as was I, but I had this overwhelming feeling to push forward.
With our wipers on the highest speed, a huge green weather blob above our heads and another heading toward us just behind that one, we drove to the park.

It seemed like as soon as we pulled into the park, the rain slowed down. I jumped out of my car, threw lenses on my cameras, grabbed Anna and Jacob, and we ran to the field.
It was raining a little, but it wasn’t terrible, and they were AMAZING sports.
Although she planned two outfits for her session, we decided it’d be best to work quickly in one outfit so we could make the best of our time.
I could tell she was bummed. And when she showed me the other outfit, I was too. (Talk about gorgeous!!!!)

As we made our way through the park, the rain was on and off, until it dried up completely.
The huge green blob that was on its way some minutes ago was gone!
We hung out and played some more, expecting another downpour to start, but it was just holding back. The skies were super dark, but no rain was falling. 🙂
Anna and Jacob got to change into their second outfits, and I got the opportunity to shoot two of the bravest and most beautiful people who have insanely awesome attitudes. I’m so, so, SO happy we rescheduled their first shoot and pushed forward during their second shoot. Because, if I do say so myself, they made some pretty epic pictures.

I think they deserve a golden trophy for trusting me to shoot in the rain, letting me talk them into venturing in the super wet field of long grass, and especially for dodging all the ant hills and sitting in the mud!!! 🙂
I’m looking forward to blue skies, gorgeous white clouds, and warm days on August 22. 🙂 You deserve the nice weather, and your wedding is going to be AMAZING!!!!
Enjoy your time away from school, Jacob! 😉
xoxo,
Rocheal
