Planning a wedding can be a whirlwind of excitement and details, and as your big day approaches, it’s essential to ensure everything is in place. Here are 4 things to do before your photographer arrives on your wedding day to capture those natural, unforgettable moments.

1. Make Sure All Outfits, Dresses, and Suits Are Steamed and Ready to Go!

You want your wedding party and parents looking fly, right? Go ahead and have those outfits steamed before we arrive because more often than not, you’ll want those gorgeous outfits photographed! (This attire is a significant part of your day!) Ensure all dresses, suits, and outfits are steamed and wrinkle-free. This will make a world of difference in your photos and saves valuable time when getting ready.

💪 Pro Tip: Delegate this!!! Have two or three people working on this for you so that you and your key people aren’t tied up taking care of this important task. (Who wants their maid of honor busy steaming instead of enjoy mimosas with you?!)

2. EAT!!!

This might seem like a no-brainer, but it’s easy to forget in the hustle and bustle of wedding preparations. You might not feel hungry, but make yourself eat a few bites and drink water before I arrive. Once the cameras start rolling, it’s go time, and you might not have a chance to eat until the reception dinner. A small meal or snack can keep your energy up and your nerves at bay.

💪Pro Tip: Have a good breakfast with fruits, protein, complex carbs, and even veggies. Martha Stewart has awesome recommendations!

3. Gather All of Your Details

Detail shots are a beautiful way to capture the essence of your wedding. From your invitations and rings to any sentimental items, have all these fun little details packed in a box labeled “For Rocheal Photography” and set aside in one specific area. This organization allows me (and your videographer) to quickly and easily get those shots without having to hunt down items. This saves time and helps ensure nothing gets missed.

💪 Pro Tip: Ask your florist ahead of time to give you floral scraps. This will take your detail photos to another level.

4. Tidy Up Your Getting Ready Area

The bridal suite can get quite messy with all the excitement of getting ready for the Big Day!! Have someone take a few moments before we get there to tidy up the space where you’ll be getting ready. Clearing clutter and organizing your area helps your wedding album showcase stunning elegance without distractions in the background. It’s amazing how a clean space can elevate your photos!

💪 Pro Tip: Short on space? Clear half the room and reserve the other half for mess!

These tips are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to taking care of the details on your wedding day — and making sure those little things are taken care of is our passion!! See if your date is still available on our calendar so you can be worry-free and focus on enjoying your special day.
