Cliché, I know, but it’s true! Lindsey and Josh are exactly the couple you would draw up in your head if you imagined a young and in love couple today. Their favorite things to do as a couple are eating out and playing video games. I have to admit: I relate to the eating out part! And I probably would relate to the playing video games (confession: I used to LOVE The Sims…) but I can’t seem to find the time to play anymore.
We first met at this adorable little coffee shop called Revolutionaries Market. I’m not sure if you’ve heard of the place, but it’s super cute! They have handmade home decor, paintings from local artists, and probably delicious coffee- though we didn’t indulge because we were too busy chatting it up!
Toward the middle of their session was when I realized we were literally having a blast. Sometimes the first 20 minutes or so are a bit awkward because- let’s face it- virtually NO ONE wants to have a camera stuck in their face. But this was so natural! I felt like we were three friends, just hanging out. Josh knows EXACTLY how to make Lindsey laugh, and Lindsey is so readily willing to allow him to crack jokes.
It was about this time that we started talking about their LAST engagement session (yup! They did two of these things!). Lindsey didn’t know me at the time, so she didn’t realize that I include a complimentary engagement session in my wedding packages! They didn’t seem to mind having their pictures done again. We all were laughing about it through the whole session.

After taking a few shots at the old City Hall, we decided to head to the railroad tracks and then DEFINITELY check out Scoops for some ice cream.

They were so sweet to treat me to a massive scoop of delicious ice cream. I’d never tried Scoops before!! After we snapped a few pictures of them goofing off at the barstools, we all sat down and talked over our cold treats for a while. I got to see Lindsey’s GORGEOUSSSSSS wedding dress, and also learned a TON about Josh’s college career. Fun fact: we both went to Georgia State! He’ll be graduating from their law school soon, which I remember them building about the time I was graduating. The place is gorgeous!
I’m so excited I got an opportunity to shoot in downtown Monroe, and I’m even more excited for Lindsey and Josh’s wedding at Ashton Gardens next year!!! It’ll be my first morning wedding at Ashton Gardens. I’m SUPER thrilled to see what the light looks like in the chapel.
xoxo,
Rocheal
