I cannot believe I’m standing here writing a blog for Sarah and Josh’s Fernbank Atlanta Engagement Session!!!
You know the saying, ‘If you love what you do you’ll never work a day in your life.’
It’s such a complicated concept because loving what you do is so multifaceted. So much more has to happen behind the scenes with this photography business than I ever thought, and sometimes (like you) I get overwhelmed and tired and I wonder if I can keep on keeping on.
And then people like this come into my life.

You first met Sarah and Josh way back at Erin and Jordan’s wedding at Ashton Gardens. (wow my work has changed so much since then!!)
Sarah is Erin’s best friend, and she and I hit it off! She was SO much fun, and also a ton of help. When Sarah called me to ask if I could photograph her boyfriend Josh’s military homecoming at the airport, I was speechless. (Uh, YES! It was AMAZING.)
After Josh’s homecoming, the two of them spent some time traveling; visiting family for the holidays, etc.
And then Guess. Who. Got. Engaged. During. Their. Travels.
SARAH AND JOSH!!!!
I remember seeing her announce it on Facebook, and I was SUPER stoked for them!! Josh popped the question at Zion National Park (DREAMY!!) And as a friend I scrolled through the photos, teary eyed, just beaming for their happiness. And as a photographer, I tried so hard to stay silent.
hahaha!
But literally, I took a screenshot of her announcement and sent it to my husband with a text, “Do you think I’ll get to shoot their wedding?!?!?!!”

When she emailed me, I tried so hard to play it cool. Then I gave up, and filled my email with capital words and a trillion exclamation marks. Why hide excitement?!
This is what dreams are made of.
These two met on Bumble, which is an online dating app and Sarah was Josh’s first date! He planned this super amazing evening for them beginning with dinner at Taverna in Buckhead, then some fun at Painting With A Twist, and wrapping things up with milkshakes at Cheesecaked.
