Dahlonega Wedding Photographer – Juliette Chapel Wedding

February 23, 2021 – Dahlonega Wedding Photographer – Juliette Chapel Wedding

I sat at my computer to write this blog about an hour ago and since then my phone and email have blown up. On a good note, I booked some sessions and planned some wedding day timeline logistics… On a challenging note, every time I come back to start writing, my mind stays blank.

It’s not so much because I’m getting distracted, but that I have so much to say about this couple and I’m not sure where to start.

A few years ago my family made a decision to homeschool our 13 year old, who was a rising 6th grader. The year we pulled him out of public school was the year he started Youth Group at 12Stone in Snellville, and the timing was perfect. Without going into a ton of detail here, Lucas was one of the youth group leaders who poured into my son.

The moment I heard about Lucas proposing to Evelina I wanted to gift them wedding photography. Our church has been immeasurably valuable for my son, and I just want to give back.

Knowing Lucas– to be honest, I was a little nervous about their engagement session!! I’m pretty animated and like to have fun with my couples, and Lucas is little quiet. I was so worried my style wouldn’t vibe well with his style during their engagement session, and Boy Was I Wrong! I’m so thankful we got to spend that morning together at their Yellow River Park sunrise engagement session, because that’s the moment I realized these two were not only super easy to photograph, but insanely perfect together.

While their engagement session was full of giggles and fun, their wedding was slam packed with love. Unyielding, precious love.

You see, Evelina’s mom passed away not long ago, and Lucas’ mom (who *also* poured into my family when my baby was having trouble joining the nursery at church!) stood alongside Evelina’s mom’s amazing spirit to help Evelina through the day and just to love on her. I didn’t know the bond between a mother-in-law could be so truly deep.

As the day unfolded, so did the fun. While Lucas’ mom was helping Evelina into her wedding gown and shoes, Lucas and his brother were picking on dad and cutting up together.

His brother is the one with the beard, and he is *hilarious*!!

Bridal Reveal – Juliette Chapel Wedding

Evelina wanted to have a moment with her daddy before her ceremony, so we met behind the LimeLight Inn Lodge for a sweet Daddy / Daughter Bridal Reveal. He was in tears even before he saw her.

At the Chapel…

Evelina is super close to her grandma, and so we also set some time aside for this.

(This is Evelina’s grandma’s recipe book.)

One last moment before the ceremony… A First Touch and prayer between the bride and groom.

This was the first wedding I’d been to that had a Foot Washing Ceremony, and it was beautiful.

This was also the first wedding I’ve been to that included worship. How incredible it was to hear Ryan’s guitar, familiar voice, and witness these two families standing together and celebrating our Lord.

MARRIED! The First Kiss

(Y’all… Matt’s (the officiant) face during this kiss cracks me up.)

Congratulations, Lucas and Evelina! Thank you so much for trusting me to capture these moments for you, and for setting an amazing example for all of us to watch and see what it looks like when God is first in your lives.

Love,

Rocheal
